In vedic astrology and western astrology aspects are used differenetly.
For example, in western astrology some aspects are stressful but motivating (Square, Opposition), some indicate talents or easy flowing energy (Trine, Sextile), and some are irritating but promote awareness (Quincunx, Semi-Sextile).
In Vedic astrology the aspect is usually by sign and not by degree. All planets aspect 7 from their position. Mars , Jupiter and Saturn have additional aspects . Mars aspects 4 and 8 , Saturn 3 and 6, Jupiter 9 and 5 .

Aspect Configuration- (In Western Astrology ) Three or more planets in aspect to each other, forming a kind of "circuit of energy" together. This means they operate collectively, as a group, resulting in an effect that is greater than the sum of their parts. This is a whole level of chart interpretation that goes beyond simply looking at planet-to-planet aspects. Bruno and Louise Huber have done some very impressive research into aspect patterns. Their book Aspect Pattern Astrology (now available in English) is highly recommended for more information about these fascinating planetary patterns.
